CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. The competition is open as to subject, form and style. Entrants must be over 16. 2. The competition is open to all except for members of the Judging Panel of the Leicester Poetry Society. 3. Poems should be up to 40 lines in length (excluding title), unpublished, not offered or accepted for publication or entered into any other current competition, and must not have been a prize-winner in any other competition. No entrant may win more than one prize. Only postal entries shall be accepted. 4. Entry fee: £4.00 per poem; Members of Leicester Poetry Society may enter a second poem free. Please make cheques payable to Leicester Poetry Society. 5. Each entry should be typed on a separate A4 sheet and should not bear any identification. Poet's name, address, telephone number and poem title(s) should be printed clearly on a separate A4 sheet of paper. 6. Poems cannot be returned or amended once submitted. You are advised to keep a copy of your work. Please send an SAE marked Results if you wish to receive them by post. For acknowledgment of receipt please send a separate SAE marked Receipt. 7. The closing date is 8th August 2008 and prize-winners will be notified thereafter. The Panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. 8. The winning poems and runners-up will be announced at the Society’s AGM on 26th September 2008. 9. The winning poems will be published in the Society’s magazine The Stanza and winning poets will be offered an opportunity to read at a Society Reading. 10. Copyright remains with the author, but Leicester Poetry Society reserves the right to display, publish, have broadcast or use winning poems in promotional work. 11.
