Workshops

Workshops are your chance to read and discuss work in progress in a small, informal group.

Leicester Poetry Society runs about seven or more poetry workshops each term on Fridays from 7.00 pm until 9.15 pm. at The Friends Meeting House, 16 Queens Road, except when there is a reading  – normally the second week of the month.

Everyone is welcome – you do not need to be a member.

Dates for spring and summer 2010:

April 9th, 16th, 30th,

May 14th, 21st, 28th,

June 11th, 24th,

July 1st.

Fellow work-shoppers provide a support network for writers of all ages and  backgrounds seeking to improve their work. Alternatively, you can bring along the works of other poets for discussion, just sit and listen or take part as you wish.

Occasionally workshops will be held on a theme which will be publicised before the event. See Events Page for details.

Everyone is welcome – you do not need to be a member.  The first visit is free,  thereafter by weekly subscription (£2).  If you would like constructive feedback on a poem, please bring several copies.

    Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to visit your poetry workshop on Friday evenings and would like to be kept informed of any particular dates for poetry readings. Not sure if I would be any good but love to listen anyway.

    Dear Marie,
The programme of workshops and events from September onwards will not be published until after the Annual General Meeting of the Society which takes place on 3rd September. It will then be shown on the website – so watch this space!
